Terms of Service

Effective July 17, 2026

Welcome to SoCal Nonprofit Jobs ("we," "the site"). By using the site — browsing jobs, creating an account, applying, or posting — you agree to these terms. They're written in plain language on purpose; if anything is unclear, email info@socalnonprofitjobs.org.

What we are (and aren't)

We're a job board connecting Southern California nonprofits with people who want to work for them. We are not a party to any employment relationship: employers make their own hiring decisions, candidates make their own application decisions, and we don't guarantee that any listing leads to a hire or any application to a job. We review listings for quality but can't independently verify every claim in them.

Accounts

  • Keep your account information accurate, and use an email address you control — sign-in codes go there.
  • Your account is for you (or, for employer accounts, your organization). Don't share access with people outside it.
  • We may suspend or close accounts that violate these terms, abuse the site, or post fraudulent content.

For job seekers

  • Job seeker accounts, applications, alerts, and profiles are free.
  • You own your content (resume, profile). You give us permission to store it and share it as described in our Privacy Policy — with employers you apply to, and, only if you opt in, through candidate matching.
  • Apply honestly. Misrepresenting qualifications hurts you, the employer, and the board.

For employers

  • Listings are paid (single posts, multi-post packages, or unlimited subscriptions; volunteer/board listings are free with a quick review). Each listing runs for the period stated at purchase.
  • Credits from packages are valid for 12 months from purchase and aren't transferable between organizations.
  • Subscriptions renew automatically until canceled — you can cancel any time from Billing → Manage plan, and posting stays included through the end of the paid period.
  • Payments are processed by Stripe. If something went wrong with a purchase, email us and we'll make it right; refunds for unused purchases are handled case by case.
  • Listing rules: real openings at real organizations, located in or hiring for Southern California. You're responsible for your listing's accuracy and its compliance with employment law, including California's pay-transparency requirements. No listings that charge applicants fees, no discriminatory requirements, no multi-level-marketing or commission-only "opportunities" dressed as jobs.
  • We may edit listings for formatting/categorization, and may decline or remove listings that violate these rules — with a refund or credit when the removal wasn't caused by a rule violation.
  • Applicant information you receive through the site is for hiring at your organization only — don't resell it, share it outside your hiring process, or add applicants to marketing lists without their consent.

Acceptable use

Don't scrape or bulk-harvest the site's content or user data, probe or disrupt the service, misrepresent who you are, or use the site for anything unlawful. Reasonable search-engine indexing of public pages is welcome.

Our content

Job listings belong to the employers who post them. Everything else on the site — salary data compilations, organization profiles, articles, design — is ours; you may link to it and quote it with attribution, but not republish it wholesale.

Disclaimers & limits

The site is provided "as is." We work hard to keep it accurate and available, but we can't promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free, and we aren't liable for hiring outcomes, employer or candidate conduct, or indirect damages from using the site. Where liability can't be excluded, it's limited to what you paid us in the past 12 months.

Changes and termination

We may update these terms as the site evolves; meaningful changes get a new effective date at the top, and significant ones are announced to account holders. You can close your account at any time by emailing us — see the Privacy Policy for what happens to your data.

Governing law

These terms are governed by California law, and any disputes belong in the courts of Los Angeles County, California.
