Privacy Policy
Effective July 17, 2026
SoCal Nonprofit Jobs ("we") connects nonprofit professionals with Southern California nonprofits. This policy explains what we collect, why, who sees it, how long we keep it, and how to reach us about any of it. We try to keep this in plain language — if anything is unclear, email info@socalnonprofitjobs.org.
What we collect
If you're a job seeker
- Account & profile — your email address, and anything you add to your profile: name, phone, location, headline, LinkedIn URL, photo, and resume.
- Applications — when you apply to a job hosted on our site, we collect your name, email, phone, optional note, and resume, and deliver them to that employer.
- Job alerts & newsletter — your email and the preferences you choose (frequency, location, categories, cause areas, job type, salary).
- Saved jobs — jobs you heart, stored in your browser and, when you're signed in, on your account.
If you're an employer
- Account & organization — your work email, organization name and website, and any branding you add (logo, tagline, about text, social and video links).
- Job listings — the postings you create.
- Billing — payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your card number; we keep order records (what was purchased, when, and the amount).
Everyone
- Usage statistics — we count job views, clicks, saves, and applications as daily totals per listing. These counters contain no names or personal identifiers.
- Analytics & logs — we use Google Analytics (cookies) to understand site traffic, and our host (Cloudflare) keeps standard server logs.
- Sign-in — we use passwordless email codes. A session cookie keeps you signed in; we store only a hashed form of it.
How we use it
- Run the job board: publish listings, deliver applications to employers, send the alerts and newsletters you asked for.
- Operate employer accounts: credits, subscriptions, receipts, applicant management.
- With your explicit permission, include your profile and resume in our candidate-matching service so relevant employers can find you. You can grant or withdraw this in your profile at any time.
- Improve the site using aggregate statistics.
We do not sell your personal information, and we never share your resume with anyone except an employer you applied to — or, if you opted into candidate matching, employers with relevant openings.
Who processes data for us
Cloudflare (hosting and storage), Stripe (payments), Zoho (email delivery, newsletters, and our contact database), Google (analytics), and Anthropic (automated reading of job postings and, with your permission, resumes — content is processed to extract fields, not used to train models). Each processes data only to provide their service to us.
How long we keep things
- Applications and resumes: deleted 12 months after the job closes. Employers download or act on applications well before then; after 12 months we permanently remove the application records and resume files for that listing.
- Your account and profile — kept while your account is active; deleted on request.
- Alerts and newsletter subscriptions — until you unsubscribe (every email has one-click opt-out).
- Sign-in codes — expire after 30 minutes; expired records are purged automatically.
- Order records — kept for accounting purposes.
Accounts moved from our previous platform
If you created your account on our earlier job-board platform (jobs.socalnonprofitjobs.org), your profile and resume were migrated here so nothing was lost in the move. Any permissions you granted at signup — such as sharing your resume for candidate matching — carry over exactly as you set them, and you can review or change them in your profile.
Your choices and rights
- Edit your profile, resume, alert preferences, and candidate-matching permission any time from your dashboard.
- Unsubscribe from any email with the link in its footer.
- Email info@socalnonprofitjobs.org to request a copy of your data or complete deletion of your account — we honor these requests for everyone, including all rights available to California residents.
Changes
If we make meaningful changes to this policy, we'll update the date at the top and, for significant changes affecting signed-up users, note it by email or on the site.
