About the role

Director, Community Services Full-time position available in San Diego (Kearny Mesa) RESPONSIBILITIES Under the direction of the Associate Executive Director, is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the department, including the effective delivery of community-based services for people with developmental disabilities and their families. Oversee the activities of the Community Resource Development Plan (CRDP)/Community Placement Plan (CPP) and oversight for resource development, vendorization, contract development, program evaluation, quality assurance, and service provider relations. Monitors the Performance Contract Measures with the Department of Developmental Services (DDS), with a focus on measurable outcomes, accountability, service quality, and continuous improvement. QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION Bachelor's or Master's Degree from a regionally accredited educational institution in the following disciplines: Social Work, Education, Psychology, Public Administration, Management, Public Relations, or an equivalent degree in Social Services or Business. EXPERIENCE Bachelor's Degree: Ten (10) years of increasingly responsible management and/or leadership experience and at least five (5) years of senior management experience. Experience should include five (5) years of work in the field of developmental disabilities. Master's Degree: Five (5) years of increasingly responsible professional experience and supervisory responsibility, including three (3) years of senior management experience. Experience should include five (5) years of work in the field of developmental disabilities. KNOWLEDGE Quality assurance and continuous quality improvement principles, including the use of data, performance measures, stakeholder feedback, and outcome-based practices to evaluate and strengthen service delivery. Legal, compliance, and risk management principles applicable to community-based services and service provider operations. Employment law and effective personnel practices, policies, and procedures.
