Supervised Visitation Monitor (PT)

About the Role: The Supervised Visitation Monitor, under supervision of the Program Supervisor and Program Director, provides services to SBCS's culturally diverse families and individuals. SBCS's Supervised Visitation program offers free supervised visitation services to families with open family court cases through the South County Superior Court, providing a safe space for non-custodial parents to visit with their children.

Key Responsibilities:

• Observe and accurately record all interactions during visits
• Intervene as necessary to ensure safety
• Document all contacts, including visits, calls, and other communications
• Complete accurate and factual documentation of all visits daily
• Ensure the safety of all participants
• Follow court orders
• Provide safety planning, de-escalation, and crisis intervention as needed
• Supervise visits using rigorous de-escalation techniques
• Communicate with all involved parties as requested
• Support team with program's waitlist maintenance
• Work collaboratively with other staff members
• Utilize the Agency's approved database
• Maintain client case files in accordance with Agency standards
• Adhere to agency confidentiality, HIPAA, and mandated reporting policies
• Attend and participate in required trainings, staff meetings, and activities

Requirements:

• Minimum B.A. or B.S. degree in social work, psychology, or related field
• Minimum 2 years of experience in child, youth, and family services
• Experience preferably in community-based or neighborhood service organization
• Flexibility to attend required 3-day Supervised Visitation training within first 30 days
• Ability to be objective and flexible to adapt to priority changes
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Knowledge of family court system preferred
• Experience in areas of domestic violence and/or child abuse
• Fluent Spanish speaker with ability to read and write in Spanish and English (required)
• Ability to work with diverse populations, possess cultural sensitivity, and maintain appropriate client boundaries
• Valid California driver's license and valid auto insurance policy
• Reliable transportation for offsite meetings
