Employment Services Representative - Vista Campus

The Employment Services Representative assists unemployed participants in the areas of employment preparation, resume writing, interviewing skills, job search and placement. They provide a variety of resources to support participant transition into long-term sustainable work.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain updated roster of participant placements and collaborate with area employers to create job opportunities

• Notify employers of Work Opportunity Tax Credit, fidelity bonding incentive, and other hiring benefits

• Prepare and update monthly employer roster willing to hire participants for CDCR

• Mentor students in disclosing appropriate information regarding past convictions and parole status

• Provide counseling and employability services including resume writing, mock interviews, time management

• Assess participants to determine employment, training, and Career Technical Education needs

• Assist with legal work documentation and initial résumé completion

• Work with participants post-placement to address issues and verify employment

• Assist participants who lose jobs in securing new employment

• Make appropriate referrals to outside agencies

• Maintain progress notes and ensure program compliance with policies and regulations

• Attend workshops, meetings, and training as requested

Qualifications:

Required: Bachelor's degree in Social Sciences or related field, OR high school diploma/equivalent AND two years of job developer or similar experience. Within six weeks of hire, must obtain First Aid and CPR certification, pass physical examination and tuberculosis test. Ability to cope with difficult students and mental/emotional stress.
