About the role

MARKETING MANAGER

Summary Description:

Under the direct supervision of the Sr Vice President, Sales, Ops, & Marketing, the Marketing Manager will assist with all aspects of the Marketing Department, including but not limited to: advertising, graphic design, social media, digital media, retail marketing, website management, analytics, collateral material development, and database management. The Marketing Manager also provides support for special events, donor relations, newsletter development, and internal and external communications.

Exemplary Duties / Responsibilities:
The Marketing Manager provides direct support and implements projects assigned by the Sr Vice President, Sales, Ops, & Marketing. The position manages Goodwill SOLAC's print and digital advertising program; designs ads as well as designs retail marketing and collateral materials; manages and promotes Goodwill SOLAC's social media presence; regularly updates the ThinkGood.org website; gathers and shares digital analytics; manages and archives marketing databases; and coordinates community outreach mailings. The Marketing Manager also provides support for special events, processing donations and disseminating donor thank you letters, newsletter development, and internal and external communications. Other duties include administrative support for all activities of the marketing department.

This position requires the ability to work independently and as part of a team, exercise judgment and initiative, have a strong work ethic, manage multiple projects, and work within tight deadlines.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education/Experience:

Any combination of education and experience providing the required knowledge and skills is qualifying. Typical qualifications would be equivalent to:

  • (BS/BA) in Marketing, PR, Journalism, Communications or related field or equivalent work experience
  • Two (2) years' proven experience as a Marketing Manager or similar role managing projects; experience in a nonprofit setting is strongly preferred.
  • Experience with public relations, community outreach, administration and database management.
  • Experience managing social media accounts and executing social media campaigns
  • Excellent writing, editing and proofreading skills

Knowledge & Skills:

  • Strong project management and organizational skills
  • Familiarity with marketing analytics tools and techniques
  • Strong email design and content creation skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines and prioritize multiple projects
  • Familiarity with marketing analytics tools and techniques
  • Strong email design and content creation skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and desktop publishing software programs
  • Excellent communications skills
  • Thorough understanding of marketing elements (including traditional and digital marketing such as SEO/Social media etc.) and market research methods
  • Demonstrable experience in marketing data analytics and tools
  • Solid computer skills, including MS Office, marketing software (Adobe Creative Suite and CRM), and applications (Web analytics, Google Adwords etc.)
  • Knowledge of HTML, CSS and web development tools desired
  • Well-organized and detail-oriented
  • Commercial awareness partnered with a creative mind

Softwares & Systems:

  • Canva
  • Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, & Premier Pro / Final Cut Pro
  • Fundamental underrating of HTML

License/Certifications:

  • Valid CA Driver's License, being willing and able to produce valid registration upon demand.
