Wallis House Supervisor

About the role

Under the supervision of the Director of Wallis House, the Wallis House Supervisor provides onsite supervision and support to residents and staff utilizing a harm reduction and trauma-informed approach. The Supervisor oversees the safety, security, and daily operations of the facility in accordance with established agency policies, procedures, and service standards. The Supervisor ensures collaborative, coordinated service delivery among all program staff to support a unified, team-based approach to resident services.

Essential Functions:

Facilitate intakes for new residents, including collecting and entering data, inspecting resident belongings, and orienting residents to house expectations and guidelines. Liaise with the housekeeper to ensure all rooms are clean, tidy and fully furnished to accommodate resident's needs. Conduct room inspections to ensure Residents are properly maintaining their area, clean and neat manner per house rules.

Ensure safety and security within the house at all times. Provide administrative support by answering the phone and greeting visitors and volunteers. Check in with Residents who are on-site to ensure Resident safety and welfare. Respond to complaints in a timely and professional manner.

Assist with conflict resolution in coordination with PATH worker. Must remain in good standing with HMIS (LAHSA's Homeless Management Information System) requirements and standards.

Provide case management support services, including: assisting residents with benefit establishment and entitlement applications, assisting residents in obtaining necessary identification and personal records, providing employment support and referrals to vocational resources, coordinating linkage to healthcare and supportive services, and collaborating with referring organizations to coordinate resident's care.

Participate in interviewing potential new hires. Assist Director in ensuring new staff are trained and supporting current staff with their job duties and during crisis. On-call for crisis. Assist in ensuring that all shifts are covered by scheduling staff and filling in when needed. Oversee and supervise Resident Advisors and provide individual supervision with weekly meetings.

Works to promote and support justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion at all levels in the organization. Works to promote a trauma-informed work environment. Actively participate in quality improvement projects.
